We first teased that filmmaker Mike Flanagan would be creating a new series based on Stephen King’s debut novel Carrie back in 2024. Now, two years later, Carrie will finally be streaming on Amazon Prime this October. Here’s everything you need to know about the eight-episode miniseries before its Halloween-time release. Filming for Carrie began in Vancouver in June 2025 and wrapped in October of the same year. The first six episodes were written by Mike Flanagan, Elizabeth Padden, Justina Ireland, Dani Parker, Elan Gale, Alexandra Magistro, and Rebecca Leigh Klingel. Mike Flanagan also directed four of the episodes. Horror fans will probably be very familiar with Flanagan’s work, as he has adapted many Stephen King novels, including Doctor Sleep, Gerald’s Game, and The Life of Chuck. Flanagan is also the creator of many fan favorite Netflix horror series, such as Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House.
