We say it every year, but here’s your reminder: just because October is over doesn’t mean spooky season has to end! We get excellent new horror releases all year round, and there are some really stellar ones coming out this November.
If you’re looking to keep the scares going throughout November and beyond, here are seven books you’ll want to add to your TBR. Happy reading, horror fans.
Beautiful Brutal Bodies by Linda Cheng (Roaring Book Press, November 4)
Linda Cheng’s standalone follow-up to Gorgeous Gruesome Faces is described as “a feral fairytale.” Tian, a singer-songwriter with a huge online following, is horrified to discover her fans have died from mysterious injuries while watching her livestream. Now, she’s escaped from the spotlight to hide out on a remote island with her best friend and only confidant, Liya, as well as her musical collaborator, Shenyu. What they think will be a restorative retreat ends up being anything but when horrifying rituals are revealed and terrible creatures await them in the wilds.

The Place Where They Buried Your Heart by Christina Henry (Berkley, November 4)
Here’s a haunted house story perfect for fans of The Last House of Needless Street. In Chicago, there is an abandoned house on an otherwise unremarkable street. Then Paul went in… and never came back. Some say the house ate Paul. Some say he was kidnapped. Whatever happened to her little brother, Jessie has not been able to let it go. Now an adult, Jessie still lives on the same street as that house, and she feels it calling to her.

It’s a place people have whispered about and a place from which children have disappeared and never come back. When one girl disappears from Lia’s backyard, the fear becomes very real. Lia’s worried her little sister could be next. As she delves deeper into the history of disappearances, Lia wonders if her mother knows more about the forest’s mysteries than she has let on.
