The mysterious traveler
This story is unlike any you’ve heard before, so pay close attention—you won’t want to miss a single detail. You must be willing to believe in the impossible, for what is told here may sound unbelievable, but believe me—these old eyes have seen it.
The world I’m about to tell you of has long been at war—a place where kings, champions, and soldiers have all fallen. Yet as long as the omen of shadow and gloom spreads across the land, the majestic sages and brave heroes will rise to oppose it.
Pull up a chair, warm yourself by the hearth—but don’t get distracted. Every detail matters…
When humanity was young and magic ran through our veins, we could see things now thought impossible, long lost to time. We have succumbed to skepticism, unable to believe in what we cannot see. Sometimes, even when we do see it, we still doubt.
Many who have glimpsed these worlds have described them in their own way. Perhaps they truly saw them—who knows? But to avoid being judged by skeptics, they gave these places different names: The Shire, The Wardrobe, Asteroid B612, a galaxy far, far away, Hades, Olympus… and many others. Worlds so incredible they defy belief. Places where magic resides—though it is known by many names, as are those who wield it.
I can assure you that all those worlds are real—it’s just that the doors were closed to humans, who slowly became numb to magic. You see, magic has no shades—it is either good or evil, light or dark. And being such a young race, humanity lacks the wisdom to understand it. That’s why we so easily lose our way. But this is not a punishment. On the contrary: the wisest heirs of destiny made this decision to protect us—perhaps from ourselves.
I see your eyes are still open—that means my story has caught your attention. And this is only the beginning. Yes, rub your hands together to keep warm, so the cold won’t distract you. My tale begins now. And it will be you who decides whether it is true or false—whether what I say is even possible.
Drago: I told you for decades that the doors were not safe.
Caaler: What should we do now?
Frimmgor: I think we should inform the House of Regents; they will know what to do.
Drago: With everything happening between the kingdoms right now, this event could be seen as either a good or bad omen. It all depends on whose interests are at stake. We cannot afford to tip the balance—not now, not with tensions this high. I think it's best we take it north, to Argnot Forest.
Caaler: To the Forest of Lights? Why?
Frimmgor: Only hermits and dark sorcerers live there. What exactly do you want to do?
Drago: While it is a dark and dangerous place, guarded by the Spectris, it is also the home of Hoolom, the Wise.
